2008 District Adult/Senior Championships

August 1 - 3

Location: Five Seasons

From Melinda Koch: Congratulations to Beth McCreary and Mayfield Village 2 for winning the 3.5 Women District Championship. The 3.5 Women will be well represented and we wish them good luck at States this weekend!

From John Lilly: 4.5 men....Cleveland Racquet Club, Louis Jacobs, captain. Playoff team in 2007. In 2008 added 8 players who were 5.0 rated in 2007. Team picked as overwhelming league favorite before the season started.                               

From Chester McClain: Our two other teams in the Ohio State Championships put up a good showing for the NEOTA and I would again like to again congratulate Richard Smith (3.5 Chagrin Valley) and Ralph Knap (North Ridge) on a fine season.

From John Lilly: The Cleveland Racquet Club Men's 4.5 team will be representing Ohio at the Midwest Sectional Championships this weekend in Indianapolis. Captained by Louis Jacobs, the team was 12-0 in the local league and won both of its matches in the State competition last weekend at River Oaks Racquet Club. With solid singles competitors and very strong doubles teams the NEO team looks to be a big factor in the Sectional Championships.

From Chester McClain: We have two (2) Ohio State Champion teams from the NEOTA. I, and I hope all of you will, wish Frank Griffin's Towpath team and William (Bill) Mooney's University Schools team good luck in the upcoming Sectional Championships and of course the Nationals.
